From a Photo to a Pattern You Can Bead

Pinhaodou turns an image into a pattern you can bead from directly. Everything runs in your browser; your image is never uploaded.

Four steps

1. Upload and crop: PNG, JPEG or WebP up to 20 MB. Crop away background you don't need; the more the subject fills the frame, the clearer a small pattern gets.
2. Set up and generate: grid width of 16–150 beads, 2–30 colors, and up to 40,000 cells per pattern.
3. Edit cell by cell: pen, eraser, fill, picker and replace-all, all with undo and redo. Edits save automatically in this browser, so a refresh loses nothing.
4. Export a PNG: coordinates, color codes, per-color counts and a bead total, with codes for MARD, COCO, Manman, Panpan or Mixiaowo.

What you see is what you bead

When generating, Pinhaodou picks the few bead colors from the brand palette that fit your image best, so every cell is a bead you can actually buy. The canvas, the materials list and the exported PNG always match.

Turn on Bead view in the zoom bar to preview every bead as it looks once made.

Three ways to a clearer pattern

• Use Smooth transitions for photos: with a limited color count, smooth shading such as skin and sky breaks into flat patches. Smooth transitions alternate neighboring bead colors to imitate the tones in between. It suits photos 80+ beads wide, at the cost of more single scattered beads.
• Crop before you enlarge: at the same grid width, the more space the subject takes, the clearer faces and outlines become.
• Match colors to size: a small 29-bead piece needs only 8–12 colors; portraits and landscapes can use 24–30.
